Mabé Pearls: Unlike the usual round pearls, these are one of a kind as they are ‘half pearls.’ They are mainly cultured in Southeast Asia and in the Japanese islands near Okinawa.They come in various shapes such as oval, heart, drop and cushion.
Chinese Freshwater Pearls: They come in various colours such as pure white to orange and rosy violet and in a number of shapes varying from round and oval to button, drop and baroque.
Kasumiga Pearls: This is a fairly new type of pearl and is found in the lake in northeast Tokyo. They come in shades of light to dark pink.
